Father's Day 2014

It is no secret that Benji is an incredible father and that we appreciate him every single day. Izzy say's it best in this video: (click here if reading via email).

Since Benji had to catch a flight Sunday night, we decided to celebrate Father's Day all weekend. Saturday got off to a slow start since Izzy was having teething pain that night and woke up around 3:30. He was wide awake and decided he did not want to go back to sleep until around 8:30am. Of all days, it was fine since we had no work or major plans and we were both home and could switch off the painful early morning. After we ALL napped, we headed over to a new eatery around us called Hudson Eats that hosts Black Seed Bagels - a montreal bagel shop we've been wanting to try. It did not disappoint and we discovered that Izzy loves whitefish....he's such an old Jewish man!

I've been slightly obsessed with taking NY Ferry's lately (more to come about that) so for Father's Day, we adventured out to the West side Ferry's and took a boat to Liberty Island in Jersey City. The ultimate goal was to visit the Liberty Science Center located a short walk from the Ferry, but Izzy's teeth were still hurting him and he was not in his usual Izzy mood (you can tell from the photos below). We ended up strolling around the beautiful and quiet park and took a nap staring at the backside of Lady Liberty.....not a view we usually get to see:-) The city from any any is always breathtaking and the day was a perfect 70 degrees and sunny! We do hope to visit again to take more advantage of the amazing playgrounds, walk more of the park and hopefully visit the science center.

Sunday was my day to celebrate with Benji. We got a babysitter in the morning so we could spend some quality time together and do what we like best....such as go to a spin class at Soul Cycle. It was great to leisurely walk sans stroller and take our time on another beautiful day. That afternoon we just spent time in the neighborhood and had dinner as a family (3 nights in a row) before Benji's late night flight.

Wishing a very happy Father's Day to all the amazing men in our lives --> Izzy's Zaydie, Garry Shomair. Izzy's Great Grandfather, Jack Goldstein and Izzy's Grandpa, Mike Goldstein.

Here's a photo of Izzy's Grandpa teaching him very important skills of showing the food in his mouth, magic tricks and playing the guitar!

Love you DAD!
