After ending work on Friday I was really able to take advantage of every minute before the baby. Starting on Friday afternoon I signed off early from my last day of work and met my new pregnant friend Sarah at 12 Chairs for a celebratory lunch. Benji and I met Sarah and her husband, Isaac at our CPR class at Tribeca Pediatrics. We did not really talk to any couples but fortunately at the end we struck up a conversation (also b/c we liked his name - foreshadow). Sarah was due on November 5 with a baby girl and they live just a few blocks from us on Houston. Fortunate for me, her baby was still cooking so we were able to have a very pregnant lunch (amazing update is that her baby girl was born the same day as Izzy!)
That night I made a very special birthday dinner for Benji and had all of his close guy friends over and Deb. I even made the challah and it was my best one yet!
The weekend was a blur but I remember we were just busy getting our lives in order preparing for the baby - determining which insurance plan to go with next year, organizing our files, even had time to look at a very overpriced condo in Brooklyn Heights.
Monday, I started my week of leisure. I did a huge grocery shopping at Trader Joes and had 10 bags delivered. We had not fully restocked after Hurricane Sandy so this was a great excuse to make sure we had all the essentials ready to go. Also stocked up at CVS on anything we needed. My cousin Stefani came by that night to work on the Thanksgiving family menu and then I went and got a much needed mani-pedi with Deb. A very productive day!
Tuesday was my day to catch up with my closest friends in NYC, Worth. She brought over the bottom of our bassinet that she used with her daughter who is now 9 months old. We then headed to Chelsea Market to do some shopping at Anthropologie. I finished up ALL of my Hanuakkah shopping and then we had lunch at the Milk bar. Worth and I know each other through my friend from camp and old NYC roommate, David Reiser so we were excited he was able to join us after lunch to catch up.
Wednesday was my day to catch up with my other closest friend in NYC, Kari (FYI - Kari, Worth and I have been getting together at least once a month since we were all engaged around the same time 3 years ago - the talk was first weddings, then marriage, and now babies). After my Doctors appointment, I went up to see Kari and her 14 month son Jullien - partly to have a cookie from Lavin Baker (my fav in the city) and also so she could help me update my registry on diapers.com.
FYI my Doctors appointment went well. The doctor said things were moving along and i'd probably deliver sometime in the next week. To make an appointment on Friday for a sonogram screening since i'd be past my due date....
