9mo Doctor Checkup

This week we went to the Doctor for Izzy's 9 month check up. He was such a brave boy – he did not cry when he had his finger pricked and blood drawn for lead and anemia and he just cried for a moment when he got his flu shot! The nurses and doctor thought he was such a cute and sweet boy – of course. Fortunately, he is still as healthy as can be. Below is an updated chart of his growth.
  • I was VERY surprised to learn that he's average on weight and gained only 1 lb from his 6mo appointment. With his bulging belly and solid body, you would have thought he gained 10 lbs!
  • He is 75th percentile in height! He may take after his Uncle Ari because neither of us are very tall.
  • His head has also gotten larger as I figured since his baby hats are no longer fitting!

The best part of the doctors visit was the subway ride to the appointment. We still see the same doctor near our old West Village apartment so we now have to take the train instead of walk (however, they both end up being around 20 min). Being in a rush and with one stop in mind I carried him in the ergo carrier instead of his SUV/Stroller and he had the BEST time!

When I sat down on the subway I was between 2 women, he immediately started to make friends with them by feeling up their arms – thankfully they were okay with it. Then, he discovered how much fun it was to be upside down so he would throw himself backwards, giggle and wave at the people sitting across from him. He had everyone laughing. Here's a photo of Izzy after the doctor already filling out his 12-18mo pajamas!
