Happy 28th Month Birthday Izzy

Its March 15th and I feel like we FINALLY made it through winter (almost). This past month was still very snowy, yet without the bitter cold, so we could finally play outside (photos below). Here is an update of all things Izzy at 2 years and 4 months.

Talking update - It is fascinating to hear Izzy's mind in action. A few words he uses a lot are "either" or "nice." When he's happy he'll say that you or something is nice such as: "mommy nice" or "essence nice" or "daddy nice."

Here are some conversations that stood out this month:
Out of the blue one time he exclaimed, "Izzy hates apples" - now this is the boy that wants an apple every morning. What shocked me was the fact he used the word "hate." This word goes in the "dirty word" category in my eyes!

A realization - that we've been making too many trips to San Francisco...even Batman goes there now
Izzy: Batman go to work
Me: Where?
Izzy: In an airplane
Me: Where is he going?
Izzy: San Francisco
Me: What is he doing there?
Izzy: Read and write
Typical morning with Izzy eating his apple "cut up" along with milk & water

Burritos - Izzy did not get his Mommy's looks, but he did get my eating habits. With lack of time and always on the go, I often eat my food in a tortilla wrap and will make every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner - into a burrito! Izzy now does this as well. I know if I put his food into a tortilla, he will eat it. I've also seen him use his pancake as a wrap for other food....I'll have to try that sometime!

Guitar player - He has now started using his stickers as a pick on his guitar. The other day I heard him break out "You are my sunshine" it was the CUTEST THING EVER! Here are videos of Izzy playing his favorite song on the guitar for Elmo (with his pick).

Scooter - Izzy got a scooter for his birthday, and we've been practicing all winter indoors - the benefits of living in a highrise with long hallways! Finally, the snow has started to melt, and Izzy was finally ready to test his skills on the pavement. Here is a video of Izzy showing off his scooter skills....a badge of a true NYCity kid!

Time out - Izzy has started to pile up the time-outs. This could be for crawling across the top of the table or pushing the water on the outside of the refridgerator so it sprays everywhere. It is a great thing he's soooo stinking cute because he is a non-stop handful sometime. I think you can get a glimpse of this from the photos below.

So ready for winter to be over Seaport!

Thank goodness for a heated indoor pool in the horrid winters!

Izzy got his hair cut and it was the first time he got a lollypop. Here's a photo of Izzy hanging with the barber after getting his hair cut. Now, he asks all the time so he can get his hair cut (what he really wants is a sucker)!

Only in NYC does an empty subway hall turn into an ideal playspace on the weekends!

Izzy's first school photos. Which one would you choose?
One of our favorite spots is Chobani in Soho. We've gone a lot lately and Izzy has his special spot in the window behind the bar. He entertains everyone while we eat!

Izzy decided he wanted to act like a dog around the apartment after his bath one night -- never a dull moment with this kid!

practicing is surfing skills
There is a spot on the window sill that Izzy likes. Randomly he likes to put his bare belly there because its so cold. Here's Izzy in action
